Cleveland's east side suburbs have a character all their own: walkable business districts, long-established neighborhood practices, independent shops, and a dense web of nonprofits and community organizations. Many of them have been serving the same neighborhoods for decades.
What they often do not have is a website that matches that reputation. And on the east side, where people search by suburb rather than by city, that gap costs real business.
People search by suburb, not by "Cleveland"
A family in University Heights looking for a dentist searches "dentist University Heights" or "dentist near me," not "Cleveland dentist." A donor in Shaker Heights looks for local organizations by name and neighborhood. If your website never mentions the communities you actually serve, Google and AI assistants have no reason to connect you to them.
That is why a good east-side website names its neighborhoods in real, natural content. Not a stuffed list of town names in the footer, but genuine statements like "serving patients from Cleveland Heights, University Heights and Beachwood." It is one of the simplest and most overlooked fixes we make.
Community by community
Cleveland Heights
Home to some of the region's most walkable business districts, including Cedar Lee, Coventry Village and Cedar Fairmount. Independent shops, restaurants, practices and arts organizations here compete on personality and reputation. Web design in Cleveland Heights.
University Heights
A residential community and home to John Carroll University, with neighborhood practices and services along Cedar and Warrensville. Web design in University Heights.
Shaker Heights
From the Van Aken District to the long-standing practices and organizations throughout the city, Shaker businesses serve a community that expects quality. Web design in Shaker Heights.
Beachwood
One of the east side's busiest centers for medical, dental, legal and professional offices, plus Beachwood Place. Competition for "near me" searches here is fierce. Web design in Beachwood.
South Euclid and Lyndhurst
Neighboring communities with established practices and shops along Green Road, Cedar Center and Mayfield Road, and Legacy Village in Lyndhurst. South Euclid and Lyndhurst web design.
And the rest of the east side
We also work with businesses in Mayfield Heights, Richmond Heights, Euclid and Solon, and across Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.
What east-side organizations need from a website
- Local search done properly. Your suburb and neighborhood named in real content, a complete Google Business Profile, and consistent contact details everywhere. More on that in how 'near me' search works.
- A site that works on a phone. Most people check a local business on their phone, often while deciding where to go. Calling, getting directions and booking should take one tap.
- Clear, accurate basics. Hours, insurance accepted, parking, services, and how to reach you, stated plainly and consistent with everything else online.
- A way to act. Online booking for practices, donation and volunteer forms for nonprofits, quote requests for service businesses.
- Information AI assistants can use. More people now ask ChatGPT for local recommendations. We wrote about how to become the business it recommends.
A local designer who knows the area
We are a Cleveland web design studio, based in the Warehouse District and building websites for Northeast Ohio since 2005. Our clients include Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University, both on the city's east side, along with neighborhood practices, nonprofits and independent businesses across the region.
When you work with us, you work with one accountable person who answers the phone, and who is a short drive from your office if you would rather meet in person. If your website is not doing justice to your organization, let's talk.
